Finished painting: At last! It was a hard slog but is now done. After finishing the reedy flotsam I added a bit more refinement to the trees; added some twigs sprouting from the tree trunks; put in a few standing reeds and painted the teal. The painting will look better once varnished as this will bring out some contrast, deepen the dark areas and enrich the colours a bit. This painting will be in my one-man show at the Wildlife Art Gallery in November (see 'Events' page)

i have a couple of your prints chris, the duck/ducklings and a corn bunting.
i live near the wildlife gallery in lavenham, and recall many happy times mesmerised by your paintings.

Hi Chris, I've just found your website and now your blog and just wanted to say how beautiful I think your work is. I love how you put your compositions together and how as a viewer you look for the bird within the painting as you would looking through the binoculars! I just think your work is so original. I hope you post here again soon.
