Stage 13; The seaweed-covered rock is now complete and I have started working on the reflections of the rock in the water at the ducks' feet.

Hi Chris.
Can you share some tips on how you photograph your work? Your pictures always look very clean while I get a lot of glare on the darks when I take a picture. Did you photograph all the paintings in your book yourself?

Hi Erik,
Sorry for the delay in replying. The pictures in my book were all photographed professionally but the ones here I did myself. I think the secret is to make the light source as oblique to the picture plane as possible - direct lighting from the front will give a lot of glare. Use a large mirror or something reflective at the side of the picture furthest from the oblique light source to reflect light evenly over the picture.
