Just outside Boat of Garten, in the Cairngorm National Park, are a series of pools tucked away in the Abernethy Forest. These always seem to be tranquil, slightly mysterious places where the forest is reflected in dark, peaty waters.
A lone little grebe swims across the far side of the pool.
This painting was largely completed in situ.
