If you fancy spending a week in a luxurious castle, on the beautiful Outer Hebridean Isle of Harris, sketching and painting under the tutelage of Chris - read on! This 6-day course will take place in the last week of June this year but there will only be 8 places available. Your home and studio for the week will be the stunning Amhuinnsuidhe Castle, set in 55,000 acres of wild Scottish landscape - all at your fingertips. The course will concentrate on painting en plein air to capture the colours, light and atmosphere of the landscape in the field, with some studio practice too. It is hoped the week will include a day trip to the hauntingly beautiful and wildlife rich island of St. Kilda; the remotest island in the British Ilses. Full details (click here) are now available on the Amhuinnsuidhe Castle website where you can also book your place on the course.
Chris recently held a major two-man exhibition Artists for Albatrosses with fellow artist John Gale. The exhibition, at the Air Gallery, Dover Street, London, aimed to raise funds and awareness for the RSPB's Save the Albatross Campaign. The exhibition was generously sponsored by Hurtigruten cruise company. Sales form the exhibition raised in excess of £15,000 for the Save the Albatross campaign.

My desire to paint wildlife, particularly birds, stems from a deep fascination and respect for the natural world and a wish to share my excitement for the subject through my paintings. I am inspired by the light, colours, textures and patterns which are found in nature, even in the most ordinary and often overlooked corners of the landscape
