Long-tailed tit
This was only the second linocut I had ever done so I was feeling my way with it a bit. By gouging with a U-shaped cutter I found that the uncut bits between each stroke gave the impression of a mass of twigs and branches in the background without having to resolve each one precisely. Whilst cutting the bird I developed a deep respect for the masters of this form of printmaking - it is far from easy!
