The boys are back in town
As I sat sketching these drake goldeneyes, happily milling about at the far side of the loch, they all turned, as if on cue from some hidden signal, and began swimming purposefully straight towards me. I know one shouldnt anthropomorphise wild creatures but these suddenly looked like ducks with attitude!
I was inspired by the intensity of the colour contrast between the warm yellows and oranges of the dead reeds and grasses, and the cool sky-blues reflected in the snow, the ice and the birds wake.
