'Sleeping it off'
I sketched this pair of sea otters at a wonderful little reserve called Point Lobos, on the California coast. I defy even the most hard-hearted cynic not to be charmed by these beautiful creatures they are, frankly, just too cute for words! Sea otters spend one-third of their lives eating, one-third grooming and the final third sleeping. This pair, having secured themselves in place with kelp fronds, is engaged in the latter. Original painted in oils on board.
