Aberlady Bay

SOLD

Acrylic on paper, 48cm x 68cm

This painting could have been called “Sunshine and showers”. A stiff westerly breeze whips across  Aberlady Bay on the East Lothian coast. Heavy showers push down the Firth of Forth chased by short bursts of winter sunshine. It is winter, the tide is far out and wintering waders, ducks and gulls are scattered thinly across the expanse of mud and sand. Rain and the previous high tide have filled the marshy pools beyond which the Peffer burn runs, muddily, out to sea.

This painting can be seen at my one-man show at the Donald Watson Gallery, Waterston House, Aberlady, from 19th November 2016 to 11th January 2017. Please click here for more details.
