This is actually a Spanish pig, or at least I sketched it in Spain, and the wagtail is one of the blue-headed races of yellow wagtail.

I liked the contrast between the great, slumbering bulk of the pig enjoying the cool, wet mud, and the delicate wagtail, full of nervous energy as it frantically darted after insects.

The shadow cast by the iron gate formed an interesting pattern over the pig’s back.
